Rawlings model 456B, from the 2000 season, is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of outstanding use. Some checking (grain swelling) from repeated ball contact is on the back barrel. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on all sides of the barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers. Also visible on the bat are blue and red bat rack streaks. There is a light coat of pine tar on the upper handle. The model number (456B) order number (343) and year (00) are stamped into the knob. The weight “32” and “Varitek” are written on the knob in fading black ink. Varitek’s number (33) is written on the knob and top barrel in black marker. The bat has been inscribed “To: Joe Thanks!” on the front barrel also in black marker. The bat has been graded a PSA GU8.5. A great bat of the All Star catcher!
