Louisville Slugger M9 model R161, from the 2009 season, is un-cracked and shows evidence of outstanding use. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right and back barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Cleat marks are visible on the right, front and back barrel. The lower handle and knob have been padded and taped to enhance the grip and there is a moderate coat of pine tar on the upper handle and M9 logo. The date of manufacture (6/1/2009), length (34.5) and weight (32oz) are stamped on the knob. Sheffield’s number (10) is written on the knob in black marker and on the top barrel in silver marker. A Gary Sheffield signature and the added inscription ‘Game Used 2009’ is written on the front barrel in silver marker. This bat features Louisville Slugger’s 125th Anniversary logo, which was branded on Louisville Slugger professional model bats manufactured between approximately the third week in March thru August 31st 2009. The bat has been graded a PSA GU10. A great bat of the slugging All Star right-fielder, 3rd baseman and shortstop!
