Hillerich & Bradsby model R43, from the 1976 season, is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of excellent use. Several ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right and back barrel.  Cleat marks can be seen on the left barrel. The handle has been taped and padded and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Murcer’s number (20) is written on the knob and top barrel in gold marker.

The notable feature of this Bobby Murcer professional model bat is his familiar padded handle. Murcer applied the pad to his bats after a hand injury in the late 1960’s. The inclusion of the pad provides, what we believe to be, strong evidence that the bat was game used by Bobby Murcer. The bat has been graded a PSA GU9. A great bat of the All Star outfielder!
