Sam bat model GS1, from the 2003 season, is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of outstanding use. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right, left and back barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Cleat marks can be seen on the right and back barrel. Also visible on the bat is an impression from a weighted batting donut. The lower handle and top of the knob have been wrapped with tape to enhance the grip and there is a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. The length (34.5″), weight (32 oz), date of manufacture (06 26 03), model number (GS-1) and order number (1889) are written on the top barrel in black ink. Sheffield’s number (11) is written on the knob in silver marker.  The bat is graded PSA GU10. A Gary Sheffield signature and the added inscription “Game Used” are on the front barrel also in silver marker.  A new application of tape has been applied to the lower handle and knob by Sheffield.  A great bat of the All Star outfielder!
