Beautiful retail model 40W Honus Wagner decal bat, circa 1916, displays great use with a decal that remains 90% intact. This vintage war club is consistent with the length, 35 inches and weight 44 ounces, of bats used by Wagner during his professional career. Additionally, the tape application (bat not cracked) serves to enhance the grip. Vintage photos show Wagner using bats with a similar tape application. The bat displays great use with defined ball marks on all sides of the flamed finished barrel. The primary contact area is the left barrel. Rasp marks, from filing the bottom of the knob and top of the barrel, when the bat came off a lathe, are visible.
