Dud Branom Game Used Bat

Hillerich & Bradsby professional model bat, circa 1925-1928, exhibits evidence of outstanding use with a handle crack. Many ball marks can be seen on the left and right barrel. Slight checking on the back barrel has been secured with four small nails. An area on the left barrel has been lightly planed to accept factory side writing. The planed area indicates this bat was returned to Louisville Slugger so that additional bats of the same model could be ordered. Today, the original factory side writing, which included the name of the player returning the bat, is no longer visible.

Dud “had a cup of coffee” in the Major Leagues with the 1927 Philadelphia Athletics, appearing in 30 games with 22 hits, 13 RBI’s and batted .234. Also during the labeling period, Branom’s Minor League career saw him on the rosters of the Kansas City Blues. Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League and the Louisville Colonels. A nice vintage bat of the former Philadelphia A’s first baseman!

The bat is accompanied by a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity.
